Mizensir is the Swiss brainchild of legendary perfumer and industry icon Alberto Morillas. Known for his ability to create olfactive poetry, Morillas has crafted some of the most iconic fragrances in the world, collaborating with prestigious brands from Bulgari to Cartier and Armani.

The Founder

If perfumery had royalty, Alberto Morillas would wear the crown. He’s a master perfumer with over 50 years of work and more than 700 fragrances under his belt. Born in Seville, Spain, in 1950, Morillas discovered his passion for scent at an early age influenced by the Mediterranean landscapes and smells from his childhood — orange blossoms, sea breezes, and sun-warmed wood galore. 

Unlike many perfumers who enter the field through formal chemistry training, Morillas took an unconventional route, teaching himself the art of perfumery before later refining his craft at Firmenich, the prestigious Swiss flavor & fragrance juggernaut where he has worked for over 50 years. Morillas’ unique approach to scent composition is often described as intuitive and emotional—more akin to painting than science. He sees fragrance as an extension of the self, believing that a great perfume should feel effortless yet deeply evocative.

Throughout his meritorious career, Morillas has created some of the most iconic and best-selling perfumes in modern history, including Calvin Klein’s Acqua di Gio, Giorgio Armani’s My Way, Bulgari’s Omnia Collection, and Cartier’s Déclaration. His signature touch lies in his ability to craft fragrances that feel timeless yet modern and transform abstraction into reality.  

The Brand

Mizensir is Morillas’ personal manifesto and brand showcasing some of his finest works. The Swiss fragrance house epitomizes luxury and artistry in perfumery. Established in 1999, Mizensir actually began as a luxury candle brand, when Patrick Firmenich, now Chairman of Firmenich, asked Morillas to create a set of artisanal candles to reward top customers.

Over time, his passion led him to expand Mizensir into a full-fledged fragrance house in 2015, offering a collection of exquisitely-crafted perfumes that encapsulate his artistic vision. Each creation is a testament to his mastery, blending the highest quality ingredients with his signature touch of effortless sophistication. Mizensir’s portfolio features standout creations like Mythique Vetyver, Perfect Oud, and Musc Eternel, each embodying Morillas’ refined approach to scent composition.

Today, the house is known for its delicate yet powerful fragrances, where every note is meticulously balanced to evoke emotions, memories, and the essence of understated luxury. Beyond personal fragrances, Mizensir continues to embrace its origins by offering luxurious scented candles and home fragrances, transforming everyday spaces into olfactory sanctuaries.
